Top Sector Life Sciences & Health (LSH) invites SMEs and research organisations to participate in the SME Call 2026. This call promotes public-private partnerships (PPP) focused on innovative industrial research within the LSH sector.

Why participate in the SME Call?
SMEs play a key role in strengthening innovation and accelerating the translation of research results into practice. The SME Call enables SMEs (under certain conditions) to attract or retain an R&D employee. In this way, they can enhance their development capacity and innovative strength.
For whom is this call intended for?
The SME Call targets projects for innovative industrial research, with an SME acting as the lead applicant. Together with research organisations, they work on a concrete innovation challenge that results in a new or improved product, service, or process. The maximum project duration is 2 years.
How much subsidy can the consortium apply for?
- SMEs: up to €150,000 PPP subsidy per project year in total
- Research organisations: up to €150,000 PPP subsidy per project in total
- Available budget: approximately €12 million for this round, of which €8 million is specifically reserved for SMEs
Important: Co-funding by both parties is mandatory and must comply with the PPP scheme.
