Meet the Team: Carola Immerzeel-Goosens

Rotterdam Square is a team of six, working together to build the innovative Life Sciences & Health ecosystem within the Rotterdam region. We’d like to introduce you to our team, getting to know the faces behind ‘Rotterdam Square’. Meet Carola Immerzeel-Goosens, our Project Manager.

Could you first introduce yourself?Carola Immerzeel-Goosens

Hi, my name is Carola Immerzeel, born and raised in Rotterdam. I consider myself as a passionate networker, connector and supporter of entrepreneurship within the LS&H community in this region. My network and experience are very helpful to boost the mission and visibility of Erasmus MC and Rotterdam Square.

I work at Erasmus MC Technology Transfer Office (TTO) and was involved since the setup and start of the Erasmus MC Campus and Rotterdam Square. I am very proud to work at Erasmus MC TTO and being project manager at Rotterdam Square.

What is your background?

Almost 25 years ago I started my career at Erasmus MC at (pre) clinical departments, joined the Technology Transfer Office in 2003 and manage the Erasmus MC Incubator (lab & office space for startups) in the Rotterdam Science Tower since 2012. I am familiar with all aspects required to bring a new innovation to the market and so make it available to the patient.

What motivates you in your job?

In addition to patientcare, education and research we now have valorization as the fourth main tasks of Erasmus MC. With the ambition to redevelop our Erasmus MC Campus during the coming years, the entire entrepreneurial LS&H ecosystem will find its new hotspot right next door to our researchers and clinicians. This all starts with a brand new Incubator and programming in the near future. With everything we do at Erasmus MC TTO and Rotterdam Square the main goal is to make impact on society. I’m happy to contribute to making the world better for our patients. So …. Rotterdam. Make it Happen!
