Vici fellowship for radiologist Marion Smits
Prof. Marion Smits, radiologist, receives a Vici grant from ZonMw for her research on virtual biopsy of brain tumors. This will allow her to develop an innovative line of research in the next five years and further expand her own research group.
In order to get a proper diagnosis of a brain tumor – and to determine the optimal treatment for it – it is currently necessary to cut tissue from the tumor: a surgical biopsy. To do so, the patient must undergo surgery.
