Alphatron and VZVZ extend collaboration to improve access to medical imaging data

Access to complete and up-to-date medical imaging information is essential for high-quality diagnostics and treatment. Rotterdam-based healthcare technology company Alphatron Medical and VZVZ are taking an important step forward in making radiological images more accessible for healthcare professionals and patients.

VZVZ and Alphatron have signed a multi-year agreement for the continued use of the Alphatron Beeldtijdlijn application. The application enables healthcare providers to generate a timeline that provides an integrated overview of a patient’s historical radiological examinations, regardless of where these examinations were performed.

Towards nationwide image availability

The collaboration contributes to the broader development of the Landelijke Tijdlijn voor Beeldbeschikbaarheid (National Timeline for Image Availability), developed together with DUO. The goal of this initiative is to connect different timeline applications from healthcare technology providers, including Alphatron, Founda and Enovation. This will allow healthcare organizations to securely exchange radiological images, independent of the supplier or application they use.

By creating a complete and current overview of a patient’s imaging history, healthcare professionals can make better-informed decisions and avoid unnecessary repeat examinations.

Strengthening digital healthcare collaboration

Patient consent is managed through Mitz, while available imaging examinations can be securely located across healthcare organizations. The collaboration is built on agreements within the Twiin framework, supporting trusted and future-proof communication between healthcare providers and technology suppliers.

This milestone demonstrates how collaboration between healthcare organizations and innovative technology partners can contribute to safer, more efficient, and more connected healthcare.
