Construction of the Daniel den Hoed Bridge has started
The construction of the Daniel den Hoed Bridge has begun. The new pedestrian bridge will connect the Daniel den Hoed Family House and the Little C district with Erasmus MC. The bridge is expected to be completed in 2027.
The aim is to provide a faster, safer, and more convenient route for relatives of cancer patients staying at the Family House. In addition, other pedestrians who are not staying at the Family House will also be able to use the bridge to cross the ’s-Gravendijkwal.
Safe and fast connection
For over 30 years, the Daniel den Hoed Family House has offered accommodation to relatives of cancer patients being treated at Erasmus MC. The new bridge will ensure that guests of the Family House no longer have to take a detour or cross the busy road. Instead, they will be able to walk quickly and safely to the hospital via the bridge.
