What can a biotech company learn from an offshore engineer? And what can a maritime engineering company learn from a healthcare innovator? The Kadans Science Tower brings together companies from a wide range of sectors: from Life Sciences & Health to engineering, maritime technology, ICT, data, and logistics.
With the event Unexpected Connections: where Science meets Industry, Kadans and Rotterdam Square are bringing these networks together on October 29, for an afternoon of inspiration, new perspectives, and meaningful connections.
We will start with two short talks from inspiring innovators, followed by a connection challenge where participants work together on challenges from different industries. Afterwards, there will be plenty of time to continue the conversation over drinks, meet new people and perhaps discover an unexpected connection that could lead to a new idea, collaboration, or business opportunity.

The connection challenge
The interactive session will take the form of a connection challenge. Participants will be assigned to different tables in advance, with each table intentionally bringing together people from a variety of sectors and backgrounds. Every table will receive a challenge to discuss.
You will have 25 minutes to exchange ideas, share perspectives, and explore possible solutions together. The goal is not necessarily to find the perfect answer, but to discover how different expertise and perspectives can lead to new ideas and unexpected connections. At the end of the session, one person from each table will briefly present the key insight or solution to the challenge during the closing part of the plenary program.
