Hein Willemse
Hein is the CCO at SyncVR Medical. SyncVR Medical is a leading European provider of Virtual Reality (VR) solutions for healthcare, supporting hospitals and healthcare organizations in integrating immersive technology into everyday clinical practice. Their platform is used across a wide range of care settings to improve patient experiences, reduce anxiety and pain, and support healthcare professionals in treatment, rehabilitation, and education.

During this session, Hein will highlight their innovative work in pediatric healthcare, showcasing how VR can be used to make medical procedures and hospital visits less stressful and more engaging for children. By creating immersive and interactive experiences, VR helps young patients better understand what to expect, provides distraction during procedures, and contributes to a more positive healthcare journey.

Melek Rousian
Melek is an Associate Professor and Gynaecologist at Erasmus MC, specializing in embryonic development and innovative imaging technologies. In her work, she combines 3D ultrasound with virtual reality (VR) to visualize and analyse embryonic growth and development at very early stages of pregnancy. By using VR technology, complex structures such as brain development and embryonic anatomy can be examined with greater precision than with traditional imaging methods.

During her presentation, Melek will share insights into the use of VR in medical research and demonstrate how these technologies contribute to a better understanding of prenatal health and future healthcare innovations.

Henrik Hellman
Henrik is the founder of EldersVR, Manabu and EldersHome, with over twelve years of experience in Virtual Reality and Mixed Reality production. For the past six years, he has focused entirely on elderly care and the training of healthcare professionals through immersive technology.

Manabu is an innovative XR learning application developed specifically for teaching essential care skills, designed for new employees, slow learners and people with low literacy. Through a combination of Mixed Reality and Virtual Reality, care workers practice ADL skills in a safe, repeatable environment without putting pressure on the workplace. The application was developed with European subsidy funding in collaboration with healthcare organisations and knowledge institutions in Belgium and the Netherlands.

During this session, Henrik will share how XR technology can make healthcare training more efficient, accessible and sustainable, and how Manabu achieves a 25% reduction in onboarding time. He will demonstrate how immersive learning helps new care workers, including those with low literacy or learning difficulties, to build confidence and competence.
