EY and Rotterdam Square join forces to empower Life Sciences & Health entrepreneurs in the region

Rotterdam Square is proud to announce a new partnership with EY, aimed at supporting the Life Sciences & Health (LSH) entrepreneurs in the Rotterdam region. This collaboration marks a significant step forward in strengthening the innovation ecosystem and providing tailored guidance to early-stage companies as they scale their business and navigate complex growth challenges.

As part of this strategic partnership, Rotterdam Square and EY will work closely together to offer ambitious (starting) entrepreneurs from the Rotterdam region access to expert insights on administrative, tax, and legal matters through regular walk-in consultation hours and annual workshops. The goal is to equip founders with the tools and knowledge they need to thrive in a competitive and rapidly evolving sector.

To kick off the collaboration, Rotterdam Square and EY will host a joint workshop on Thursday, October 16, 2025. This interactive session will focus on grants and incentives, in which EY specialists will join to further explore the world of tax subsidies and incentives, including payroll tax subsidies and corporate tax credits. The workshop will be hosted in Rotterdam and is open to companies within the Rotterdam Square network and the broader LSH community.

Ellen Smit, Managing Director of Rotterdam Square: “This partnership with EY allows us to better support the entrepreneurial talent that is driving innovation in Life Sciences & Health in the Rotterdam region. We aim to build a solid foundation that empowers startups to grow sustainably and make a lasting impact.”

Richard van der Pluym, Senior Manager at EY Netherlands: “We are very much looking forward to collaborating with startup entrepreneurs. Through our partnership, we can support them in tackling administrative, tax, and legal challenges, allowing them to focus on growing their business. Together, we are building a strong foundation for their success!”

This partnership reflects Rotterdam Square’s commitment to building a vibrant, connected Life Sciences & Health hub in Rotterdam where industry, science, and entrepreneurship come together to accelerate innovation and drive progress in healthcare.
