Douwe Jippes, co-founder and managing partner at Healthy.CapitalCould you please introduce yourself first?

I’m Douwe Jippes, co-founder and managing partner of Healthy.Capital, a digital health impact investor, a fund totaling EUR 40 million to invest in Digital Health startups. Our current investment portfolio consists of 14 ventures. I lived in Rotterdam for over a decade and I’m very happy to be a part of the Rotterdam ecosystem.

Investing in solutions that help to transforms these challenges healthcare is facing. I believe when technology is fueled by digitalization principle, innovation will thrive and grow. We support innovative digital health startups with seed capital, extensive industry knowledge and a powerful global network, we aim to change the future of healthcare forever.

Why do you think an event like Healthy Funding is so important?

Events that create a bridge between founders and investors are crucial in building a network that will help transform healthcare. As a former startup founder, I know how hard it is to connect with venture capital, to get rapport. A founder – venture capital relationship should be characterized by agreement, mutual understanding, or empathy that makes communication effective to build a deal. Having the VC pitch for the founders is a big part of the fun in organizing this event!

What are you currently looking for within the Life Sciences & Health network?

We’re always on the look-out for new companies with strong willed founders, that think in concrete steps, have traction backed by great data points and the passion to build a truly outstanding company to help keep healthcare affordable and accessible. At Healthy.Capital we currently focus on startups younger than seven years, that have a Dutch business entity and are building a digital health solution.
