Green light for the development of Erasmus MC Campus
The Erasmus MC Masterplan 2050 has been approved by the Municipality of Rotterdam. This will allow the further development of the Erasmus MC Campus, located in the heart of Rotterdam. “The campus is crucial to our mission of ‘excellent care and a healthy population through research and education’, so this is a very important first step,” says Stefan Sleijfer, Dean and Chairman of the Executive Board of Erasmus MC.
The Masterplan 2050 is a vision for the future of the development of the Erasmus MC Campus. The Municipality has approved an expansion of up to 720,000 m2 of floor space. The campus must become a place where knowledge institutions, companies, scientists, students, teachers, healthcare professionals and patients work together on innovative and future-proof healthcare. Because that collaboration is essential to keep healthcare high-quality, accessible and sustainable. “For the individual patient and for healthcare as a whole,” Sleijfer explains.
