The Erasmus MC AI Accelerator has launched

Thursday, January 23, 2025, marked the official kick-off of the Erasmus MC AI Accelerator. Member of the Executive Board, Dirk Schraven, kicked off the AI Accelerator, stating: “AI can help us keep healthcare accessible while balancing demand and capacity. Establishing the AI Accelerator is a logical step that aligns with our broader strategy.”

Dr. Peter Rijnbeek and dr. Michel van Genderen took the stage next. “The technological development of AI is advancing at a rapid pace,” Michel explained. “This compels us to collaborate more effectively and accelerate the responsible implementation of AI. That is exactly what the AI Accelerator aims to contribute to.” How? The AI accelerator aims to build an AI community, boost AI literacy, formulate AI policies and facilitate AI technical infrastructure.
