Meet the Team: Sharon Mullen

Rotterdam Square is a team of five dedicated women, working together to build the innovative Life Sciences & Health ecosystem within the Rotterdam region. We’d like to introduce you to our team, getting to know the faces behind ‘Rotterdam Square’. Meet Sharon Mullen, our Senior Account Manager.

Could you first introduce yourself?

Hi, I am Sharon Mullen, the Senior Account Manager at Rotterdam Square. I joined in March 2023 with the rest of the team, as the new organisation was established.

In my role I am here to support both international and Dutch Life Sciences & Health companies to connect with the ecosystem in Rotterdam and the Netherlands.

What is your background?

I am originally from the UK and have been living and working in the Netherlands for over 20 years. I previously worked in the UK, USA and the Netherlands, managing international contact centres working with companies including Sony, Proctor & Gamble, Citibank and Cisco to name just a few! For the past six years I have been part of the Invest in Holland team and worked for Rotterdam Partners, supporting International Life Sciences & Health companies in the city and attracting new companies to the Netherlands.

What motivates you in your job?

The most important part of my job is connecting collaborating, when I can bring people together and see that this helps them in their work this feel great.

I have a really large network in Life Sciences, and I love to share my knowledge and network. I am always looking to make an introduction of a company to one of the experts in healthcare and see how they can work together on new healthcare innovations and solutions.

I have a lot of energy from working in the Life Science and Health sector, as the need for new innovation increases everyday. I am very happy when I can make a small difference that in the end can result in a better experience for a patient. We all need good healthcare and by working at Rotterdam Square I feel I can contribute to this important ecosystem and try to create some magic!
