An afternoon filled with inspiring connections and valuable insights!
On December 11, the Rotterdam Square Life Science Café took place at CIC Rotterdam. The afternoon started with engaging presentations by our speakers!
Ruben Boers, co-founder of diagnostics company Methylomics, shared insights about their three unique methods:
- MeD-seq for DNA Methylation profiling which forms the basis for new, less invasive tests that can detect cancers at an early stage.
- Methyl-Me, a multi-cancer diagnostic toolkit for improved diagnosis, classification and monitoring of cancer from blood.
- MedScan, a multiplex qPCR test for the detection of cervical and all other anogenital cancers with superior sensitivity and specificity.
Jeroen Claus, founder of Phospho Biomedical Animation, demonstrated how Phospho brings science to life by making science beautiful. Instead of relying on text, Phospho explains science through animation and illustration, using data-driven, procedural design to create clear and visually compelling explanations.
Daria Kozlova, co-founder of Deep Breath, and Anton Balakirev shared their ambitions for 2026: expanding their innovative all-in-one solution for mechanical ventilation research with AI-based patient-ventilator analysis further into Europe and the US. They are pushing forward innovations that help both clinicians and patients improve the quality and impact of respiratory care.
We were also excited to launch our brand-new testimonial video filmed with Deep Breath during the session. The enthusiastic response was fantastic to see, and we cannot wait to share it with a wider audience soon!
After the plenary program, participants had plenty of opportunities to network, exchange ideas, and explore potential collaborations. Thank you to all participants for the valuable input and active engagement throughout the sessions!
