Opening & Fair Erasmus MC Netherlands Women’s Health Research and Innovation Center

On Friday, March 7, 2025 – the day before International Women’s Day – Erasmus MC will officially open the Netherlands Women’s Health Research and Innovation Center. Join us in this grand opening and at the exciting Women’s Health Fair, to celebrate this important milestone and the commitment to pioneering advancements in women’s health.

Even today, women are underrepresented in clinical trials and medical research. With the arrival of the new Women’s Health Research and Innovation Center, Erasmus MC aims to bridge this women’s health gap by focusing on innovative research and clinical practices.

Its goal is to contribute towards a better understanding of the causes of conditions that are women-specific and the determinants of women’s  health related to chronic diseases, which heavily affect women’s lives, economy and society. These conditions include reproductive health, mental health and wellbeing, cancers, gynecological conditions, but also heart disease, osteoporosis, urinary tract infections  and migraine.

The Center will integrate fragmented health research and innovation efforts by bringing together the diverse knowledge, focusing on unmet women’s health needs. This enables, with various private partners, the development of tools, data, platforms, technologies and processes for improved prediction, prevention, interception, diagnosis, treatment and management of diseases, meeting the needs of women’s health across life stages.

Erasmus MC is renowned for its cutting-edge research and state-of-the-art facilities, and the opening of Netherlands Women’s Health Research and Innovation Center is a great testimony.

Women’s Health Fair

Part of this grand opening is the Women’s Health Fair, an exciting networking event where companies from the ecosystem have the opportunity to present themselves and network with other leading companies, researchers and inspiring guest speakers in the field of women’s health.
